Lusine Aslanyan (AUA MPH 2018), Research Assistant, Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR), AUA  Turpanjian School of Public Health

Lusine Aslanyan is a Research Assistant at the Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR). She has joined the CHSR in mid 2018 and has been involved in a number of projects conducted by CHSR, particularly those focusing on midwifery education assessment and assessment of nutrition practices of school-aged children. She received a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the American University of Armenia in 2018. She devoted her Master’s thesis project to exploring attitudes, norms and behaviors enhancing unhealthy food choices in daily life of high school students in Shirak Marz, Armenia. Lusine has received AUA Turpanjian Foundation Scholarship as tuition assistance for the academic year 2016-2017. She has also received Krikor and Caline Soghikian Endowed Scholarship and Hrair and Anna Hovnanian foundation scholarship for the academic year 2017-2018 for continuing her studies at the AUA.
Lusine received a full tuition scholarship to undertake her undergraduate studies in the United States. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics from Utah State University.

Astghik Atanyan (AUA MPH 2018), MPH Recruitment Coordinator, AUA Turpanjian School of Public Health, “Entrepreneurs in Health” program coordinator, Center for Health Services Research and Development, AUA  Turpanjian School of Public Health

Astghik Atanyan is the MPH Recruitment Coordinator at Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian School of Public Health (SPH). Dr. Atanyan works with potential and current applicants of the MPH program, guiding them throughout the application process. She also holds the position of “Entrepreneurs in Health” program coordinator at CHSR, which aims to increase access to quality health services in rural communities of Armenia, Artsakh and Javakh via entrepreneurship in the health field. Dr. Atanyan has received Dr. Haroutune and Sona Armenian Scholarship and Dr. John Doumanian Endowed partial Scholarship, Krikor and Caline Soghikian Endowed Scholarship while studying in the MPH program. Her integrating experience project focused on reducing exposure to arsenic and lead in mining and smelting communities of Lori region. She has graduated from Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi with MD degree in general medicine in 2016. Before joining the SPH team, Dr. Atayan was actively involved in the Armenian Red Cross Society activities and conducted first aid trainings among different communities both in Yerevan and marzes, including border communities.

Mane Khalatyan (AUA MPH 2018), Technical Consultant for Communicable Diseases Program, World Health Organization, Country Office in Armenia

Mane Khalatyan is the Technical Consultant for Communicable Diseases Program, World Health Organization, Country Office (WHO CO) in Armenia. She provides technical, administrative and logistical assistance on different aspects of the Communicable Diseases Program, as well as provides assistance to the Tuberculosis program implementation. Simultaneously, she is working on her PhD. Mane holds a Master of Public Health degree from the American University of Armenia (2018). Her thesis project was a research grant proposal focusing on knowledge, attitude and practice of obstetrician-gynecologists on emergency contraception in Yerevan, Armenia. After graduation she worked in the Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development as a Research Assistant. Mane has also earned a Master degree in Pharmacy from Yerevan State Medical University in 2012.

Zhanna Sargsyan (AUA MPH 2018), Research Assistant,  Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR), AUA  Turpanjian School of Public Health

Zhanna Sargsyan is a Research Assistant at the Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR). She has joined the CHSR in 2018 and has been involved in a number of projects focusing on Tobacco Control. Zhanna received her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the American University of Armenia in 2018. During her studies at AUA she was awarded University Wide Academic Scholarship (UWAS). Her MPH thesis project explored the knowledge attitude and practice of Armenian parents on car safety seats for children living in Yerevan. Zhanna has also earned a Master degree in Special Education from Armenian State Pedagogical University in 2010.

Saten Hovhannisyan, BS, MPH (2018), Research Assistant, Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR), AUA  Turpanjian School of Public Health

Saten Hovhannisyan is a Research Assistant at the Avedisian Onanian Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR). In 2015 she received a Bachelor Degree in General Medicine from the Yerevan State Medical University and in 2016 she joined the MPH Program. Starting June 2018, immediately after graduating from the MPH program, she joined the CHSR as a Research Assistant. Her MPH thesis project was a qualitative study about the needs and challenges of pediatric oncologists during provision of childhood cancer care in Armenia. Before joining the CHSR team she worked at the Yerevan State Medical University as a Senior Specialist at the Development Department.
