Innovative online platforms for connecting service providers and users
Earlier this Fall, the Entrepreneurship and Product Innovation Center (EPIC) of the American University of Armenia (AUA) welcomed the 5th batch of venture startup teams to the EPIC business incubator. The 12-week program provides new entrepreneurs with steadfast support to advance their ventures, validate their business concepts, and build their business models. During the program, teams receive mentorship from experienced professionals specialized in various business and industry sectors, as well as from AUA faculty and alumni. EPIC’s numerous resources, including state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative spaces, help the teams successfully advance their ventures and launch them into the market.
Having previously introduced new startups in the current batch, EPIC proudly presents three others: uniQ, MYdiet and Salon. These ventures are designed to offer innovative platforms for connecting service providers and users.

Brief Profiles of uniQ, MYdiet, and Salon
uniQ is a platform connecting social media users with talented freelance writers to crowdsource the creation and labeling of captions for social media posts. Users get customized caption referrals that help boost their social media engagement and influence while saving them time and money.
MYdiet helps people manage personal dietary lifestyles and diet restrictions to improve their dining experience. The customized features of the application are based on the dietary requirements of each user, as well as preferred restaurants, cafes, and other food outlets. It also enhances stronger brand loyalty between the restaurants and their targeted customers. The MYdiet team is from AUA’s Master of Public Health program.
Salon is a web-based app that allows customers to book their beauty appointments from their smart device. Salon provides a one-stop shop to search, book, and engage hairdressers, nail parlors, and multidisciplinary beauty outlets.
The Entrepreneurship and Product Innovation Center (EPIC) is a platform of the American University of Armenia (AUA) for promoting entrepreneurial education, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and startup venture incubation. EPIC provides an ecosystem for emerging entrepreneurs consisting of first-class facilities and collaborative workspace, programs and events, and a network of mentors, advisors, and investors. EPIC fosters the understanding and application of entrepreneurship in students and faculty at AUA to craft high-impact multidisciplinary ventures.
