YEREVAN, Armenia ‒ On March 15, 2019, the Center for Student Success of the American University of Armenia (AUA) organized the second round of the widely popular What? Where? When? intellectual game. Seven teams representing different AUA programs took part in the game.
The competition was so intense, that after the initial three rounds of 36 questions, two teams were tied for first place. The decisive shootout round determined the winner – the Turpanjian School of Public Health (SPH) team comprising six first-year MPH students (Aram Ghulijanyan, Meri Sahakyan, Saro Tsaturyan, Ani Shatvoryan, Tatev Arakelyan, and Manushak Avagyan). This success was greatly facilitated by the students’ peers who came to support their friends.
Avagyan shared her impressions: “The game taught me to be more focused. I learned how important it is to listen to the team leader, who provided crucial instructions during brainstorming. The questions were very challenging and mind-blowing. It was the first time I participated in such a game, now I am motivated to attend other games with our team, to acquire more skills and be more helpful.”
“This game is a perfect tool for team building. It is used in many companies in Armenia to help develop group-working skills. We performed well and our team was very harmonious. The game helped me discover new sides of my friends’ personalities and I was impressed by the variety of their interests,” Sahakyan noted.
